I've met some amazing people.

People that really affected my life in a very positive way.

Not only personally but also career-wise and musically.

Tonight we're gonna, I'm gonna be sharing the stage with people that uh, that did a lot for music, for Latin music, not only in this decade, but for many decades.

And it's an honor for me to have a special guest, some people that I really respect.

I'm talking about José Feliciano.

And Señor Carlos Santana will be with us this evening.

[cheering and applause] This is Old San Juan and this is the Christ Chapel.

This is a city that has 500 years of history.

This is where the feast, the party's held every weekend.

Nightclubs, beautiful stores, boutiques, and uh, and a lot of folklore as well.

African influences, look.

This comes from, this becomes part of the festival -- Puerto Rican-Afro Festival every year in a little town that's called Orissa.

And this is a typical mask that everybody wears.

This is a piragua.

This is typical.

You need it in the Caribbean.

Ice with beautiful fruit flavor.

If you come to Old San Juan and you don't have a piragua, it's like not coming.

And it's the most beautiful thing they have, it's just Puerto Rico, man.

I hope you like it.

[audience cheers] In 1992, I recorded my first album as a soloist and I'm gonna be really honest, it was all about romantic sounds, it was all about ballads mainly.

And uh, they were pretty successful, I was really happy.

Later on I started working with my culture, the Latin sounds and it was amazing, something I'll never stop doing.

What I'm trying to say is that it's very important -- the romantic side of things.

I mean, sometimes, though, the craziness and the dancing, it's not it.

Sometimes silence is very important.

And the next song did really good in the United States, not only in the United States but in Europe and in Asia as well, as a single.

Part of this new album, and I think it's a beautiful ballad.

Dreams that I've had before, or wishes that, to be quite honest, came true.

The Grammy for me is credibility.

The acceptance of an audience is very important, but the acceptance of your peers, their respect, it motivates you.

Life can be so complicated sometimes but when we exchange ideas and thoughts with, you know with a little kid from Puerto Rico, they can teach you so many things.

They can teach you about the beauty of simplicity.

These are songs that are usually sang in a very beautiful tradition that we have in Puerto Rico every year, at the holiday seasons especially.

And you grow up, you grow up listening to this music, so that's why it's so easy for them to sing them.

The lyrics are beautiful.

They talk about hurricanes that we're always attacked by and they talk about the joy of the holidays at the same time.

Very romantic.

Cita Rodriguez and all -- but we all have to do what we have to do.

Somebody opened the doors for me and uh, while other people think I opened the doors for them, that's cool.

Myself, all I was trying to do was just make music.

[audience cheers] Talking about dreams come true, ladies and gentlemen, I'm on stage with two amazing people, people that I respect.

People that affected my life like I said in the beginning of the show, in a very positive way with their music.

For a lot of people, Latin music is like a recent boom, but no, Latin music has been around for many -- I mean we can talk about the beginning which started in Africa.

But we're talking about legends that did a lot for Latin music in this country and all over the world.

The first, his album 'Señor Bolero' became double platinum.

And the second album, 'Supernatural,' the biggest album of his 30 years career.

We're talking about two incredible human beings, I'm talking about José Feliciano and Señor Carlos Santana.
