Mia here!
I make the world more marvellous with code!
Heh, I’m also making a mess... It’s the last day of summer vacation - back to school tomorrow!
Hmm..where’s my backpack?
[Codie] [giggles] [Mia] Thanks Codie.
[Codie] [giggles] I’m ready to go!
Got my bag... got my morning locked ‘n’ coded!
That’s a lot of code, Mia.
You sure it’s all gonna work?
Yep!
But maaaybe I should do a run- through.
Now let’s.. check the code!
[Mia] The closet will dress me in a PANTS, JACKET, SHIRT and [Mia] BOOTS.
It’s time to... RUN THE CODE!
Ya.
Ta-da!
See?
I got this!
Now it’s time for me to get back in my pajamas and for us to get to bed!
Mia?
Yes, Codie?
Do we really have to say goodbye tomorrow when you go to school?
Aw...yes Codie.
But hey - I’ll be back before you know it!
But we always do everything together... Oh, I know, there is one thing I can’t do without you tomorrow!
[brightens] What’s that?
Wake up on time!
Would you wake me up?
Of course, Mia!
Thanks.
[giggles] [yawn] Night-night, little bro... [sigh] I’m gonna miss Mia so much today.
Mia’s morning is so busy... What if she forgets to hug me goodbye?
I’d better put a hug into her routine so she doesn’t forget to hug me!
Morning, Mia!
Good morning, Codie!
Whoa...!
Morning world!
First day of school.
I’d better get dressed!
It’s time to... [in unison] RUN THE CODE!!
[Mia] [giggles] Hey!
WHAT?
[giggles] Oh, whoa!
That tickles!
Uh oh...
I think this is what’s called a “Clothing Catastrophe”!!
[Codie] [gulp] I wonder what happened?
My code must have some sort of bug in it.
Like a fly?
[giggles] Not an actual bug.
In coding, a piece of code that’s not working right is called a BUG.
Hey!
What’s this ‘hug’ block doing in here?
[sigh] So that was the problem!
No wonder everything was trying to HUG me.
The BUG in the code is a HUG in the code Ohh.
How did hug block get in my code?
Well...uh...
I put it there.
You did?
Why?
‘Cause you’re going away to school today.
And I’m gonna miss you so much.
And your morning routine is so busy.
I wanted to make sure you hugged me goodbye before you left.
So I added a hug.
So you wouldn’t forget to hug me goodbye.
[exhale] Aw, don’t you worry, Codie.
I would never forget to hug my little bro- bot goodbye.
Hugging you is my most favorite thing to do!
And when I come back, we can hug ‘hello’!
[Kids] Go Codie, go!
[Codie] I want to get to the prize.
But I don't know what to do.
Can you help me?
Which code will get me to the prize?
Is it jump, then left?
Or right, then jump?
Let's try it.
Run the code!
- (ding) - Right, jump.
Run the code!
Run the code!
[Kids] Yay!
We did it!
[Codie] Bam!
KaPow!
Hey, Codie, what are you doing?
I’m reading Evu’s comic book!
[squawk] Da da-da DAAA!
Super-Evu.
Whoa!
A cape?!
Does that mean you can fly?
When there’s danger around every corner... [Evu] [karate moves] There’s help when you least expect it!
Because there’s...
The LEAGUE OF SUPERHEROOOOOES!
[Velvet] [whistle] [gasp] League?
You’re gonna need a sidekick.
Oh!
Oh!
Oh!
Can I be a sidekick?
P- l-e-a-s-e. You are a little small but sure, first... you gotta learn how to do superhero moves!
Watch and learn, little sidekick, watch and learn.
WACK!
PECK!
SIDEKICK!
[karate efforts] [Evu] Hey!
[reaching] [gasp] [Velvet] [worried] My cape!
Noooo!
Someone needs to rescue that cape!
Leave it to me; SUPER-EVUUUUU!
[efforts] Well that’s it, it’s impossible.
Sorry, Codie, I guess you can’t be my sidekick anymore.
Aww.
Impossible kershmossible.
Make way!
Elephant, comin’ through!
[Velvet] [efforts] [Evu] [squawk] Hey watch it!
Now just push me up!
This is... [efforts] a terrible idea.
Oh stomperoo.
I thought that would work.
I think... they’re gonna need a little more help.
I’m just a sidekick.
We need a REAL superhero, with a cape, to help us.
We DO have a real superhero - CODING!
Da da-da DAA!
CODING will SAVE THE DAY!
[Codie] Alright!
[Evu] [squawk] [strained] How FAST can coding save the day?
My neck is giving out!
LEAP... BEND DOWN...
LIFT.
It’s time to... run the code!
LEAP... BEND DOWN... and LIFT!
[Velvet] [efforts] I still... can’t reach it... [in unison] Aww.
I told you, this is impossible.
In the comic books, superheroes fly!
[Mia] Fly!
That’s it Codie!
I don’t think you can fly but we can use the CROUCH and SPRING blocks to help get you up there.
Load the code!
[Mia] CROUCH... [Mia] SPRING!
Let’s check the code!
[Mia] You’ll CROUCH down and then SPRING up!
[Mia] Now it’s time to... [in unison] Run the Code!
CROUCH... SPRING!
[in unison] Whoaoaoa!
Oops.
That’s a lot of spring.
[squawk] [efforts] [in unison] [cheers] Hello capey, you belong with a true superhero... Whoooa... me?
You earned it, Codie.
You saved the day like a real superhero!
I’m like a real superhero!
[Velvet] Doo-doo-doo-doo.
[Kids] Go Codie, go!
[Codie] I want to get to the prize.
But I don't know what to do.
Can you help me?
Which code will get me to the prize?
Is it left, then wear?
Or right, then wear?
Let's try it.
Run the code!
- (ding) - Right, wear.
Run the code!
- (ding) - Right, jump.
[Kids] Yay!
We did it!
Ahoy matey!
That’s pirate talk!
[Codie] Mia!
Can I be a pirate, too?
Of course you can!
Once we find the treasure.
Now let’s run the code!
Walk!
One... two... three.
Then turn left, one step!
Okay, let’s check the map.
We’ve only completed the first sequence of our pirate journey.
[Mia] We’re... [Mia] here.
[Mia] Annnnd... [Mia] that’s the treasure!
[Mia] “X” marks the spot!
But first, we need to make sure we have what we need for the journey!
Yeesh!
Aye aye, First Mate Mia!
Let’s see, ooh!
[Velvet] Telescope, shovel, juice boxes... [Codie] Ooh, pirate stuff!
[squawk] Banana peel?
What’s that doing there?
I’m the Captain, and I say we should search for that [Evu] treasure now!
[Codie] I'm gonna be a pirate.
I'm gonna be a pirate.
Aha, bot-matey!
C’mere!
[Codie] Uh, Captain Evu - what are you doing?
I’m picking out your codie things, just like Mia does!
This, that, here, there... done!
That’s not what Mia does.
She says we should always think about the sequence of blocks.
But I do want to be a pirate... you’re the captain!
And Captain Evu is an expert treasure hunter.
I know what I’m doing!
Treasure, here we come!
COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO Uh, oh!
[grunts] Yeah!
No!
This is NOT how pirates are supposed to find treasure!!
[Codie] [humming] [Velvet] Wooh!
[Velvet] I didn’t know pirates were allowed to dance... [Codie] [giggles] [Velvet] Watch out, there’s an elephant on the loose!
[Codie] [humming] DIG!
DANCE!
JUMP!
Evu?
What happened to Codie?!
Well, I... ummm, may have possibly made a teensy mistake with his code.
Perhaps you can... help me catch him?
[Codie] [silly noises] [gasp] Velvet!
Evu!
We’ve got to eject the code!
Leave it to an elephant!
Let’s do that again!
Let’s not.
But we do need to explain to Evu how a coding sequence works!
Captain Evu!
[Evu] [giggle] Here’s how the blocks work: Each one is an action for Codie to do.
When we put them in order, it becomes a sequence.
I got it!
It’s about doing the right steps in the right order.
Exactly!
Code blocks, Matey they’re the real pirate gold.
Am I a pirate yet?
Not yet!
First, let’s finish this last sequence.
Let’s check the code!
[Mia] TURN RIGHT... [Mia] WALK, FOUR.
[Mia] TURN LEFT.
[Mia] DIG!
[Mia] Ready?
It’s time to... RUN THE CODE, MATEYS!
TURN RIGHT...
WALK!
ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR.
TURN LEFT, DIG!
X” marks the spot.
Oooh!
Shrink-a-dinks!
Wow!
Pirate blocks!
Does that mean I get to be... [in unison] ...a pirate!
[Codie]PEG LEG... HOOK HAND...
EYE PATCH.
Aarrgh.
I’m Pirate Codie, now!
[squawk] That’s Captain Codie!
